Space Invaders 10050 Delivered!
I delivered a Space Invaders to a happy and eager customer this weekend. She (Yes, women play arcade games, too) was so eager she started playing as soon as I plugged it in. Didn’t even wait for a final positioning!
She was happy to have her “new” toy. We did finally position it and leg leveled it for better play.

Taito Electronics copyrighted and produced Space Invaders in 1978, Midway licensed and produced the game for the US Market. The thump, thump, thump of doom descending from space has made it to every major gaming platform for the last 3 decades. Japan quadrupled their Yen coin production to keep up with the demand generated in the years following the game's release.
When did you first play? Was it in an arcade? Was it the Taito version with a joystick or the Midway version with two movement buttons? Was it later on a home game console?

I acquired another Space Invaders on Saturday. The cabinet is very nice but some parts are needed to get it running. The monitor is out for repair, the power supply is in the mail and the board has issues.
Another part of the Space Invaders project.

Space Invaders is complete and working! I had to merge the parts from SI 8685 and SI 10050 to make a complete, working game. I am playing Space Invaders.
