Service After the Sale
08 Feb 12
We owed a paint touch up and Full set of T-molding to the owner. We stopped last night to deliver.
I was out earlier to putty fill some scratches and chip in the blue areas of the cabinet. That was long dry and we needed to sand and paint those. We went with paint, sponge brush and mini drop cloth in hand. I sanded the putty smooth and applied the paint. It was pretty good match so I blended only lightly.
We tore off the old Molding and tapped in some fresh stuff. Ms. Pac likes black with the leather texturing. She looks sharp now!

Delivered Ms. Pac-Man tonight. Installed, plugged-in and the kids (5-12) played the whole time, had to unplug so they would go home for bedtime!
They were most impressed when Mom did well!

Bucket

I got a coin bucket on the KLOV forum including the bracket to hold it in place. The bracket and bolts were in better shape than the ones in the cabinet. I swapped them out today.
Bad Plug

I am so relieved, frustrated and happy all at the same time. The ground fault is caused by improper wiring in the wall plug. They put the ground on one of the power prongs! I am guessing it worked in the seller’s place because they had ungrounded electric?
After hours of replacing fuses, blocks, filters, messy solder joints, worn wires, interlocks and anything that even looked funny it was the plug.
We put her back together, rewired the plug and played Ms. Pac-Man.
Tear Down

David came over and we are ripping her apart today. The Pac series is famous for fuse block failures. I will start by ripping out the old fuses and fuse block and replacing them with new stuff. I will find that ground fault.
Well at least we can really clean the cabinet.

I got home and unloaded, time to play Ms. Pac-Man. I plugged in and popped the GFCI. GREAT! It was a solid working game! Must have damaged her in transit.
Pulled the monitor and light connections to isolate them from the Ground Faulting load. Still no joy. Must be in the power brick.

I found a Ms. Pac-Man on eBay for a retail customer. I went to fetch my prize (hey, I WON on eBay, it is a prize) today and was happy to find the item as described and in very good condition. The art is a B+, the cabinet is A- and everything is working.
