Complete Upgrade
17 Apr 13
I found a guy that does the upgrades. I paid to have this one moved up to the 2005 Complete with 26 courses. Same Price.
For Sale
27 Apr 12
We are now offering the Golden Tee fore! 2004 for sale. I am hoping this will go to a local, retail buyer for $1000.

We placed the Dollar Acceptor, got all the locks in place, replaced the marquee and replaced the bulbs in the coin door. It is looking good.
We spliced the KorTek into the wiring harness. It had it own plug, which was weird, but it worked. We cut the plug off and attached a Molex connector to make it part of the harness. That means only one plug for the wall.
We checked the Settings and found the Free Play mode and the Medium Resolution switch. Now the video looks like a newer game. It was running the classic, low resolution this whole time. Now it looks great on screen.

Monitor Works
22 Apr 12
The picture is now stable on the monitor. I ran it for 12 hours and no ripple happened. Mike and friends were playing for an hours during the test. I played this morning as well. It looks, good but not great. I expected more from this much newer game.
No Hope
27 Mar 12
We finally received word that the original monitor for this game is beyond repair. Months after we sent it out, it can’t be fixed. Fortunately we found a suitable replacement.
New Marquee
23 Mar 12
I purchased a new marquee for the game. This one matches the content of the new drive. This unit is coming together nicely.
New Drive, Older Game
15 Mar 12
The board repair guy called. Good news for this game, he has our board working and paired (license key) with a new Hard Disc Drive (HDD). SLight disappointment in that the drive has the 2004 version, not the 2005 Complete version. Hey, it works and it is a new drive that will run for a long time.
It is weird working with a manufacturer that is still in business (unlike Atari). There may be a way to buy the upgrade kit for this unit. That was a new experience for me. I might forgo that purchase to keep this machine more affordable. The option will still be there for the buyer if they master the 7 courses on this drive.

Dead Drive
27 Aug 11
We used a standard resolution monitor and the standard resolution mode to get a picture from this game. It was not good. The boot sequence fails. We will make inquiries and get this thing fixed.
We sent the monitor out to get fixed, see what happens there.

VGA Test
26 Jul 11
I tried hooking up a VGA to the Golden Tee to see if it was plying blind. Apparently my spare VGA doesn’t speak CGA or EGA. Maybe my brother in law has an old clunker lying around.
Cleaning Bonus
25 Jul 11
Started Cleaning Golden Tee and received my cleaning bonus! Looks like 16 cents and ten pence.
Acquisition
24 Jul 11
New project, new era. We acquired this Golden Tee because the demand is still pretty high and the price was right. This one is not working. Monitor is busted and the board condition is unknown.
This is a post-2000 era game. Way out of my normal experience. I had to look inside! There is almost nothing I recognize. The power supply is an ATX, computer style, closed box with a fan mounted on it. I see a Hard Drive and a VGA card. I think my brother in law would know more about fixing this beast than I do.
It should be an interesting ride.
